Thinking aloud...

Max is a great conversation starter. He's been great at greeting people and then allowing me to get into convo mode. Unless they have a bigger dog that is, then all bets are probably off.

Tonight is resupply and crash at walmart night.
Tomorrow is last lesson in Kitty Hawk.
After that I'm going to drive south to oregon inlet and camp one night then drive the next day to frisco campground (rainbow gathering remember) and the next day take two ferries and drive to Raleigh and spend at least a day there (thanks jon for the hookup).
Then driving south to atlanta and lookout mountain for some heat and hang gliding.
Then to FL. Miami and the keys at least.

My car alarm isn't sensitive enough but its turned all the way up.

I'm standing in someone's driveway and need to make this quick.

I hate it when sunsets are cut short by mysterious clouds in the distance. I was really looking forward to a drop into the water tonight.

Max got me arrested today because he was barking too much in the car. The cop takes me from the sand dune he found me on. "Is your name Mason?"...
And takes me back to the car in his dune buggy at top speed. He says I can take Max up on the hill and stake his leash down (w the corks screw dog stake I brought). No ticket, cuffs, or penalty. Just a "Oh, that's it???" in my head. LOL

I let max out of the car and he explodes 10 seconds later w diahria. Getting arrested w no charges cost me a near heart attack, but not sleeping in a car that smells like cacca for the next 5 months??? PRICELESS

Thank you to the a-hole dime dropper who called the park patrol over! You saved my trip LOL

This blog post isn't really about anything. Sorry

My back is killing me from carrying the glider up the sand dunes. It sucks more than anything!!!

I got some great flights in today with really turbulent winds 15mph from the southwest. At an angle to the face of the dune so I had to run off diagonally down the slope. Landed on my feet 5 times, on my belly twice. My shoulder and lats are hurting from carrying the glider and nothing else. If I had spent the last 6 days playing basketball, you can be sure I'd be injured way worst than I am right now. No biggy.

  1. So...you really didn't get arrested. It was just a warning. Thanks for worrying your mother on Easter. Max's barking can be annoying, but maybe someone was teasing him. Is he okay?

We finally had a beautiful day here. 70's, sunny, and no wind. I cooked on the deck for the first time this season.

    Rest well in WalMart.

  2. Hi Mason, Hope you are well, It was great meeting you and Max!! Wow sounds like divine interventions with a dune buggy ride and getting Mason out of the car in time!!
Have a great time on your adventure!!

You should check out White water rafting in West Virginia on the Gauley river before you are done Class 5 rapids... We are heading there this summer to do a New river run and then in the fall to do the upper Gauley run.. It is amazing, beautiful and fun... my cheeks always hurt from smiling sooo much!!
