So think of the worst places I could have had a flat tire... It could have been on Monarch Pass yesterday, 11,312 feet up in the Rockies with no cell service. Even better, it could have been on a dirt road above the pass...
Well I pulled into Salida, Colorado (elev 7500 ft) yesterday wondering where I was going to sleep and the first thing I passed was... Walmart LOL.
It was twilight, so I did a quick loop through town and came back to Walmart. I got a bigger cooler and was organizing the car when some kid came up and pointed out that I had zero air in my front driver tire. Weird, but whatever! I'm in a town, with cell service, parked in a 24hr stores lot, with AAA on the phone and 3 tire shops to pick from in town.
Wow, I dodged a bullet!
So I'm within a day of Brekenridge, or Aspen, whichever I decide to do first.
Funny story: I chatted with a medical marijuana "patient" yesterday who was buying a jumbo Visene in Walmart. She was wearing a T-shirt from one of the 3 dispensiaries in town. I asked her if she was an employee or just a fan and she whipped back, "I'm a patient!" without even a crack of a smile. Whatever, a year ago you were a criminal and now you are a patient and a righteous one at that. Who the hell drives a car with a "I'm a pot patient" T-shirt on. What a dork... Then again, who puts a Budweiser vanity plate on the front of their car.
I'm going to go wait for AAA...
Can someone explain why I only blog in Walmart bathrooms? Its soooo consistent but unintentional.
