I got a new purse today!

So I'm on my way to the Outer Banks.

I got to bless the new REI in Glen Allen VA with my presence today. It was mainly for parts but I also got a fanny pack to try out as a daypack/stuff in the front when backpacking. Maybe I'll be converted to a fanny pack wearer as I was won over by what I used to call Dork Poles.

I'm spending the night at my cousin's house south of Richmond. I took a shower and had a great home cooked meal. I found a tick on a part of me that I can't mention in a public blog. It was disturbing, but it wasnt in deep and hadn't had much if anything to drink yet. The farm we were on is infested with the damn things, but it was 28 degrees last night, so I'm pretty suprised to see them out and alive. Max had five on him. All seated and dead from drinking his Frontline tainted blood. I wish I could take Frontline. Apparently there is a Lyme vaccine for dog, but not people. That's pretty stupid if you ask me.

So now I need to find someone to inspect my nethers for a bulls eye mark in two weeks. That should make for a great pick up line in a bar.

I'm pumping videos onto the web as we speak. I'm finally in a home with a good connection and time to kill. It's beautiful.

So, Max... He has had five dead ticks removed today, still has a scabby/open wound on his leg from the cattle/razor wire on the farm fence he tried to run through, and now he also has a stubbed toe or maybe worse. He won't put his back paw down since today around 12pm. So he is taking it very easy and I'm picking him up and down to the car/bed, etc. If he looses another leg, he's going to be dragging himself. It's pretty pathetic state for a guy who can run circles around all of us. I think about what would happen if something really bad happened to him all the time and all I know is that we'd be taking him back to Shenondaoh...

Anyway, thats the word. Let's see if anything is better in the AM.

In the meantime, enjoy some videos :)

  1. Daddy would've loved this! The whole thing. Especially the technology of video blogging. I bet he'd think about his travels back and forth and how cool it would've been to upload and share. He'd be proud and a touch jealous. I'm sure.

    Love,
    Adrienne

  2. That is pretty wild that you guys were attacked by ticks. Fleas and ticks love humans as well. Be on the lookout for bed bugs as well, they are some nasty critters. Ticks are the worst though, because of Lyme disease. Ticks like to live in human hair as well, and they can be killed with human head lice treatments.
