My First Date

So I'm researching the places in AZ that I want to go to and the first one that I've settled on is the Paria Canyon/ Vermillion Cliffs. They are deep slot canyons and the BLM requires that you get a camping permit in advance, online. So this might just be my first firm date that I have to meet.

The rest of the schedule in my head looks like this:
Feb-15 Washington DC/Annapolis
Then, depending on the weather, in VA and GA, I might go straight to FL for about a month to get out of the cold. 1 week Miami, 1 Week the Keys, 1 Week Everglades National Forest
Then I might backtrack to VA and GA to check out Shenandoah, The Smokies and to see true Appalachia.
So that then gives me some time to do TX (Austin, Galveston, Houston is a maybe) which would put me into New Mexico and Arizona by the middle of May.

I want to be in California for July, so I can spend the second half of May and June checking out the the four corners area, for the deserts and canyons, etc.

August: 1 week in N. California, Seattle, check out Washington and Oregon Coasts.
Get to Vancouver around Sept 1st and stay in Canada for a week or two.

September and October - The long road back... Checking out the stuff I feel like I missed on the way out. Not sure how much of a northerly route I want to take.

I'm basically trying to avoid 40 degrees or less at night in general, so I will change the itinerary based on that issue. Being in those areas will make sleeping really sucky in the car or in a tent and at $40 a night or $280 a week, a motels will hopefully become unnecessary.

Ok, now that I got that out, let me go see what the best months are for Vermillion Cliffs, and I can start to make reservations.

P.S. The GPS is back :)
